Follwing a raw vegan diet is a lot more interesting than it sounds- eating a rainbow of foods every day is guaranteed to make anybody smile!
There are ample reasons why eating a diet full of raw, organic food is so beneficial to your health; including:
- Metabolism is boosted
- Strengthened immune system
- Increased energy
- Increased vitality
- Aids digestion
Due to the nutritional content of raw organic food and its ability to balance sugar levels and reduce cravings; metabolism is boosted– a dieters dream!
Whilst following a raw vegan lifestyle, you will find that you will fall ill less frequently due to your strengthened immune system. This is due to the fact that toxins are released from the body by the foods you eat on a raw vegan diet; as opposed to loading your body with toxins by following a typical, western diet full of processed food and chemicals. Therefore, your body can use the energy it would have otherwise been using to remove the toxins you were pumping into it; to concentrate on destroying bacteria and viruses before they take hold of your body.
This also explains the increase in vitality and increased energy you will notice by adopting this new, healthy way of living as the alleviation on the bodily functions provides your body with more expendable energy, thus; stabilising moods, decreasing symptoms of anxiety, fatigue and depression.
Digestion is enhanced by a raw food lifestyle due to the fact that the food you are nourishing your body with is full of enzymes, thus, digested easily and preventing digestive complaints which are often experienced by people who follow the typical, western diet.
Why do you only eat raw until four?
“Eat like a King at breakfast, a Prince at lunch and a pauper at dinner”
Digestion slows down throughout the day, so it is best to follow a raw diet until 4pm in order to allow your body to digest the abundance of raw food you have provided it with throughout the day; and allowing your body to rest after 4pm.
Personally, I follow the mantra ‘Eat like a king at breakfast, a Prince at lunch and a pauper at dinner’ in order to provide my body with the energy it needs throughout the day and to allow it to rest in the evening once digestion has slowed down.
I hope this blog post has inspired you to adopt the #rawtill4 way of living.
